CHARITY PARTNER
Giving Back to the Local Community
Supporting the local community is an ethos that Chesterfield Business Awards is rooted in and we believe in giving back wherever we can, that’s why for each ticket sold to our awards dinner in July, we’ll be donating £5 to a local grass-roots charity, making a real change in the town of Chesterfield. We’ll also be donating proceeds from the awards dinner itself to the selected charity. We’re delighted to announce that our selected charity for 2026 is Chesterfield Animal Rescue.
Chesterfield Animal Rescue is a registered charity founded in July 2012 by a small team of local animal lovers, dedicated to saving the lives of as many animals in need as possible each year. The organisation rescues, rehabilitates, and rehomes dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, small animals, reptiles, chickens, and ducks, and regularly expands the range of animals it is able to help.
The team has many years of experience in animal welfare and is committed to doing everything possible to provide the highest standard of welfare. They operate a strict no-kill policy, meaning animals are only euthanised if they are suffering and it would be inhumane to prolong their life. Unlike many organisations, animals are never put to sleep simply because they have been in care for a long time or are considered too old.

Animals are assessed in home environments whenever possible, and foster homes are used wherever available, with kennels reserved for emergency situations. The organisation is always in need of additional foster homes as well as kennel sponsors to help support its mission of saving more animals.
The charity relies heavily on donations to continue its lifesaving work and is currently fundraising to establish its own rescue centre, which would enable it to help thousands more animals in the future. It is actively seeking land to rent or purchase, as well as a farm or house that could be used to create a small rescue centre. We hope that support from Chesterfield Business Awards helps to expedite these plans and we look forward to welcoming charity representatives at the awards dinner, to tell us more about the incredible work they do and how they’ll use money donated.
